Inspirational Fiction

1. Short definition of Inspirational Fiction

Inspirational writing includes a personal philosophy that attempts to persuade the reader to incorporate into his or her own life. The writer of a piece of inspirational writing draws upon personal experiences of his own or of others. The desired result strives to benefit the reader emotionally, physically and spiritually. Forms of inspirational writing include novels, short stories, or any other form of narrative prose. The natural extension of inspirational fiction would be the religious novel. Well-done pieces rely upon honest expression that creates an emotional impact without being preachy.

LDS Fiction

1. Short definition of LDS Fiction

LDS fiction is literature for and about Mormons.  Usually the novels and stories include references to LDS/Mormon culture and beliefs and feature characters who are LDS. Most of LDS fiction is printed and distributed by publishers marketing to the LDS niche market.

2.  LDSFICTIONatPCL

LDSFICTIONatPCL is a Library Thing account that lists all the books that have an LDS genre label at the Provo City Library published from 2000 to 2008! We expect to list ALL the books with an LDS genre label at Provo Library by the time this project is finished so you can find all the books we own that are written by your favorite author or in your favorite genre.  You can search and sort LDSFICTIONatPCL by author, title, publisher, year and you can print lists for your use.  The tags at LDSFICTIONatPCL are a handy way to quickly sort by mystery, romance, general fiction or series title.  We will be continuously adding to the list of books until it is complete.

3.  LDSYAatPCL

Provo City Library has created an account at LibraryThing.com where you can see a list of all the LDS fiction titles in the YA collection at Provo library.  You can find books by author, title, or publisher.  We’ve also put series titles in the tags and in the title so you can find a series by searching for key words.
